This hospital has been recognized by the UNICEF as a baby friendly hospital. The department gives more emphasis on preventive and community paediatrics and conducts community intervention programmes. There is a good neonatal unit well equipped with ventilators, incubators, phototherapy unit and adequate warmers. Neonatal and Perinatal mortality are very low in this hospital. Even with all the modern facilities, the department has been successful in maintaining its commitment to the poor by offering quality treatment at very low costs.
